Occupational Therapist (Home Care)

Compensation: $65,000 - $85,000 per year 

Overview: Nexus HR is looking for a certified Occupational Therapist, for a reputable client in Cary, NC area.

About the Job:

We seek a pediatrics occupational therapist (OT ) to treat at our clinic in Cary, NC, as a Clinic-Based Therapist -in Cary, NC-27519, or in-home, daycare, and ABA clinics as a Home-Based Therapist- in Wake County, NC.

Added plus: Adult patient care with minimal experience or willingness to learn new skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations to assess children's sensory, motor, cognitive, and psychosocial development.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings, clinical observations, and input from parents/caregivers.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to children, including therapeutic activities, exercises, and interventions aimed at improving functional abilities.
  • Collaborate with parents/caregivers to establish therapeutic goals and strategies for home and community-based interventions.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques to address sensory processing difficulties, fine and gross motor skills deficits, self-care skills, and social-emotional development.
  • Monitor and document children's progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to families and caregivers on promoting skill development and fostering independence in children's daily activities.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and consultations to coordinate care and ensure continuity of services.
  • Stay abreast of current research, best practices, and emerging trends in pediatric occupational therapy.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and documentation requirements, including progress notes, treatment plans, and billing documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Certified by the National Board for Certification.

  • Possess up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

  • Outpatient clinic experience

  • Ability to care for clients with different personalities.

  • Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.

  • Ability to assess patient conditions and work with treatment plans.

  • Ability to exercise professional judgment and initiative when analyzing problems and recommending solutions
