Insurance A/R Specialist - Centennial, Co

Compensation: $21 - $25 Hourly

Overview: Nexus HR is looking for an experienced Insurance AR Specialist for a reputable clinic in Centennial, Co. 

About the Job

The Insurance AR Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all claims billed to payers are accurate and processed efficiently, leading to timely reimbursement. This role requires a strong sense of pride and commitment to service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow up on insurance account balances for ENT, Rheumatology, Neurology, and Allergy divisions as designated by the manager.

• Utilize the claims control module for accounts receivable (AR) follow-up.

• Contact insurance plans to check the status of outstanding claims and resubmit or appeal as necessary.

• Submit any medical records requested to facilitate claims processing.

• Review and correct claim denials identified by the payment specialist.

• Respond to incoming billing-related phone calls.

• Perform pre-bill and claims corrections as required.

• Serve as backup for the Guarantor AR specialist.

• Complete additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Educational level

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a medical office performing medical billing processes.

• At least 2 years of direct billing experience.

• Certified coder background preferred.

• Experience with Vitera EHR is a plus.

• Proficient in CPT/HCPCS/ICD-9/ICD-10 coding.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access).

• Strong knowledge of medical billing practices.
