About the Job

The licensed Occupational Therapist (Hand Therapist) position is for a client of Nexus HR located in Fairfield, CA. The therapist will provide non-operative interventions, preventive care, and post-surgical rehabilitation for a wide variety of upper extremity disorders, ranging from simple fingertip injuries to complex replanted extremities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and design tailored treatment plans for patients to foster their progress.

  • Educate caregivers and family members, empowering them with effective patient care strategies.

  • Evaluate therapy outcomes and make necessary adjustments for optimal results.

  • Stay updated on advancements in treatment practices to ensure patients receive the best care.

  • Comply with federal, state, and local certification requirements to maintain the highest standards of care.

  • Supervise and mentor Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications:

  • Certified by the National Board for Certification

  • Possess up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • Outpatient clinic experience

  • Ability to care for clients with different personalities

  • Comfortable using a computer for various tasks

  • Ability to assess patient conditions and work with treatment plans

  • Ability to exercise professional judgment and initiative when analyzing problems and recommending solutions
