Nexus HR is looking for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) who is responsible for supporting the doctors’ work and actively facilitating patients’ recovery. The NP will apply medical techniques and principles under the supervision of the Clinical Manager and will deal with a diverse set of patients offering them care and encouragement.
About the Job
Your primary responsibilities are to support the Physicians and provide care to patients before, during, and after procedures. You need excellent communication skills and compassion for interacting with anxious or worried patients. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are vital skills for NPs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive health assessments on patients, including physical examinations and medical history reviews.
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and conditions.
Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory work, radiology exams, and sonography.
Prescribe medications and treatments based on patient needs and in accordance with state regulations.
Perform procedures such as IV insertion, Botox Injections, PRP, and minor surgical interventions.
Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation and record keeping.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in Spanish (required).
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Houston.
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Proficient in IV insertion and catheterization procedures.
- Proficiency in using the ICD-10 coding system for accurate diagnosis documentation.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, such as Cerner or Athenahealth.
- Physical strength and ability to lift and move patients as needed for examinations or procedures.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to communicate effectively with healthcare team members.
- Understanding of utilization management principles to optimize healthcare resources.
- Willingness to travel to various locations within Houston, including Katy, Spring, and Sugar Land.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
