Physical Therapist Assistant - Renton, WA
Compensation: $35-$40 Hourly + Up to $20,000 for relocation, sign-on bonuses, and/or student loan assistance
Overview: Nexus HR is looking for a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant for a reputable healthcare facility with locations in New Mexico, Arizona, California, Washington, Alaska, and Texas. The ideal candidate can lift and move people with mobility issues.
About the Job
Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) are responsible for patient care under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist, as mandated by the State Practice Act. They possess training and education that allows them to assist the Physical Therapist in carrying out prescribed treatment programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand applicable state Practice Acts and adhere to the laws that govern how Physical Therapist Assistants may practice under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
Review the clinic policies & procedures manual yearly and adhere to its provisions.
Complete all Medicare compliance training as required by regulations and/or VibrantCare policies.
Complete Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training on a yearly basis and adhere to standards outlined in OSHA standards and other governmental regulations.
Clean and prepare treatment areas and equipment following OSHA guidelines.
Carry out skilled treatment programs as directed by a licensed Physical Therapist.
Communicate patient comments and activities to therapists clearly verbally or in writing.
Document in charts using accepted medical terminology and format.
Complete written documentation (daily notes, charge tickets, etc.) legibly, appropriately, and timely to meet facility, physician, and payor deadlines.
Maintain open and respectful communication with co-workers, physicians, patients, family members, third-party payors, and others at all times.
Attend and/or participate in facility meetings as directed by the Center Manager (may include utilization review, infection control, disaster preparedness, etc.)
Completes sufficient ongoing continuing education coursework to meet state licensure requirements for the defined reporting period
Maintains a current CPR certification that meets state licensure requirements
Qualifications:
Experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant
Physical Therapy Assistant Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree
Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in California
Familiarity with exercise and physical therapy equipment
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
Possession of excellent interpersonal, time management, problem-solving and self-initiation skills
