Speech Language Pathologist - Odessa, TX

Compensation:  $77,000 to $95,000 per year with a $3,000 signing-on bonus

Overview: Nexus HR is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist in Odessa, TX. The ideal candidate is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing and feeding disorders in children and adults. 

About the Job

The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for performing evaluations and documenting results, creating appropriate treatment plans, and implementing and documenting treatment.  The Speech Language Pathologist is also responsible for communicating with patients, families, and other health care professionals regarding evaluation results, treatment strategies, and progress.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient care by administering evaluations and developing and administering appropriate treatment plans
  • Complete documentation promptly.  Documentation includes evaluations, re-evaluations, daily notes, and discharges
  • Provide speech therapy services in a manner consistent with the ASHA code of ethics and standards set forth by the State Board of Examiners
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with physicians, other therapy team members, patients, and their families to enhance patient care
  • Maintain current license through professional development and continuing education
  • Follow and maintain procedures outlined in the Permian Basin Human Resource Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, and Safety Manual
  • Preserve and protect patient confidentiality by complying and adhering to prescribed policies, procedures, and HIPAA regulations outlined by Permian Basin Rehabilitation

  • Demonstrate professionalism and maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Clinic Director or Executive Director

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence or eligibility to complete Clinical Fellowship Year
  • Current Texas License in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Knowledge of the etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of communication disorders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Citizen of the USA or authorized to work in the USA

Pay:

  • $77,000 to $95,000 per year with a $3,000 signing-on bonus

Schedule:

  • 7:30 am to 6 pm Monday to Thursday
  • Full-time = 30 to 38 hours/week
  • Part-time =  under 30 hours/week
