Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Sacramento, CA

Compensation:  $42 to $48 per hour

Overview: Nexus HR is looking for an effective Clinical Laboratory Scientist for a medical equipment manufacturing company in Sacramento, CA.

About the Job

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) performs clinical laboratory tests at our facility. Your responsibilities in this capacity include completing specific procedures, interpreting test results, and summarizing your findings in reports. You will also be expected to keep track of laboratory supplies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Biological sample preparation for testing, including tissue, blood, urine, spinal fluid, and stomach secretions.

• Examining samples for serological, bacteriological, biochemical, hematological, and microbiological issues.

• Blood group, type, compatibility testing, and complete blood counts are performed.

• Count the number of cells and microorganisms, such as bacteria or parasites, in prepared samples.

• Analyzing biological composition and identifying drug chemical presence.

• Identifying anomalies and determining if sample parameters are within normal limits.

• Summarize results, communicate findings to referring physicians and medical experts in electronic format, and collaborate on patient care.

• Inventorying laboratory stock and supplies and obtaining replacements.

• Upkeep and calibrate equipment such as analyzers, colorimeters, flame photometers, and spectrophotometers.

• Follow best practices in medical laboratory sciences and stay current on innovations.

Qualifications:

• Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Generalist) License 

• At least 1 year of Clinical Laboratory Scientist or comparable work experience. 

• Bachelor of Science degree focusing on medical technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or similar

• Experience in EHR/EMR and/or billing is a plus

• Able to work with physical tasks related to laboratory work

• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills

• Advanced computer proficiency

• Able to work in Sacramento, CA

• Authorized to work in the US
