Compensation:  $50,000 - $55,000 per year DOE

Nexus HR is looking for a Junior Corporate Counsel for a dynamic, fast-paced legal team supporting a portfolio of healthcare, real estate, and technology ventures across California and Puerto Rico, including clients such as healthcare providers, pharmacies, tech platforms, and investment entities, all of whom operate in complex regulatory environments. The team’s legal practice is rooted in transactional law, with an emphasis on commercial agreements, M&A, multi-jurisdictional commercial real estate, privacy, and regulatory compliance. 

About the Job

The Junior Corporate Counsel will provide strategic, hands-on legal guidance to internal business teams, executive leadership, and external partners. The Junior Corporate Counsel will have strong transactional skills, a keen interest in healthcare compliance and privacy, and an ability to support a broad range of corporate, real estate, and regulatory matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including NDAs, MSAs, SaaS agreements, vendor contracts, and service agreements.

  • Support M&A transactions, including due diligence, data room organization, and post-closing integration support.

  • Assist with commercial real estate transactions, including lease review, subleases, and purchase and sale agreements.

  • Conduct legal research and prepare memos on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory issues.

  • Coordinate with external counsel on specialized matters as needed.

  • Support document management, contract lifecycle tracking, and signature processes.

  • Assist with internal policy development and training materials.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited Law School.

  • Admitted to practice Law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

  • 1–3 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or in-house legal setting.

  • Strong contract drafting, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across teams.

  • Must be available to work during Pacific Time (PST) business hours.

  • Exposure to healthcare transactions, healthcare operations, or technology services for healthcare clients is a plus.
