Compensation:  $40 - $53 per hour

About the Job

This position is for a family-owned dental practice located in Arlington, MA, and Bedford, MA. The Dental Hygienist will play a key role in ensuring patients receive quality preventive care and education. This role is best suited for someone who is detail-oriented, compassionate, and has strong communication skills. The work environment is modern, friendly, and centered around providing an excellent patient experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth.

  • Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments, including periodontal charting and evaluation of oral tissues, to identify signs of disease or abnormalities.

  • Take, process, and evaluate dental radiographs (x-rays) to assist in the diagnosis and treatment planning.

  • Administer preventive treatments such as fluoride applications and dental sealants.

  • Educate patients—children and adults—on proper brushing and flossing techniques, diet, and lifestyle habits.

  • Accurately document patient medical histories, treatment plans, and procedures performed using dental software.

  • Maintain strict infection control and sterilization procedures in accordance with OSHA and CDC guidelines to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

  • Collaborate with the dentist and other team members during patient exams and procedures.

  • Monitor and maintain dental hygiene supplies and equipment, reporting any issues or needs to management.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1-4 years of clinical experience.

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene.

  • Current and valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of Massachusetts.

  • CPR Certification or BCPR training preferred.

  • Proficient in dental software and charting.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Patient, determined, passionate.
