We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Accountant to join our team in Sacramento, CA. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help formulate and execute a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with the company’s fiscal health and strategic objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the board of directors to create and execute financial strategies and implementation plans, providing expert financial analyses and presenting financial data to facilitate informed decision-making.

  • Help develop and implement initiatives to augment revenue streams and maximize profitability, implementing stringent cost control measures while maintaining operational efficiency and quality.

  • Help establish realistic financial targets based on rigorous analysis.

  • Help cultivate a productive and compliant work environment, including recruiting, training, evaluating, ensuring regulatory adherence, delegating tasks effectively, and providing guidance and mentorship.

  • Prepare accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and regulatory filings, ensuring strict adherence to accounting principles and regulatory requirements, and maintaining meticulous records and documentation.

  • Conduct detailed analyses and generate comprehensive reports comparing actual revenue with projected profit margins, analyze financial expenditures, identify trends and areas for improvement, and present financial data to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

  • Recommend and implement adjustments to financial projections and budgets based on market conditions and company performance, develop sophisticated forecasting models to predict financial outcomes and inform strategic decisions, perform variance analysis, and provide actionable insights.

  • Collaborate with the operations department to identify operational improvements and cost-saving best practices, identify bottlenecks, streamline processes, and optimize resource allocation.

  • Partner with the operations department to implement cost-saving measures and develop sustainable operational strategies, promoting a culture of financial responsibility and encouraging innovative approaches to resource utilization.

  • Perform full-cycle accounting, posting journal entries, and executing accrual and cash-based accounting methods.

  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely billing and vendor payments

  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations for bank accounts and credit cards.

  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entry adjustments and financial review meetings.

  • Lead or support budgeting and forecasting processes; analyze financial performance and provide variance reports

  • Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits, preparing all necessary schedules and documentation.

  • Perform cost control analysis, identify areas of operational inefficiency, and propose recommendations.

  • Manage multiple priorities and contribute to improving finance-related workflows and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including tax preparation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred)

  • Experience in corporate taxes is required.

  • Proficient in using QuickBooks (Desktop and Online), Microsoft Excel, and other accounting software.

  • Effective and inclusive leadership skills.

  • Honest and with strong professional integrity.

  • Strong financial acumen, with a great sense of duty.

  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and current tax regulations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to work onsite in Sacramento, CA.
