Junior Automation Technician - Sacramento, CA

Compensation:  $26 - $31 per hour

Part-time, 10-15 hours per week

Overview: Nexus HR is looking for a Robotics Operator to help maintain and troubleshoot automated prescription-filling machines. This is a great opportunity for students or recent grads in electronics, mechatronics, or robotics who want hands-on experience with advanced healthcare technology.

In this role, you’ll assist with machine diagnostics, basic hardware/software debugging, and preventive maintenance to keep systems running smoothly. You’ll also work with our India technical team, support testing of updates and APIs, and document issues and solutions. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of automated prescription-filling machines.

• Collaborate closely with the India technical team, guiding and following their instructions to perform machine diagnostics and repairs.

• Conduct basic hardware and software debugging, identifying and reporting issues accurately.

• Support the integration and testing of APIs related to machine communication and control (basic understanding required).

• Document maintenance procedures, problems encountered, and solutions implemented.

• Participate in regular technical calls and update teams on machine status.

• Help with preventive maintenance schedules to reduce machine downtime.

• Assist in testing new hardware or software updates before deployment.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting enhancements based on observations during maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or have completed coursework in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related fields.

• Basic understanding of robotics hardware components (motors, sensors, actuators).

• Familiarity with debugging tools and techniques for mechanical and electronic systems.

• Basic knowledge of APIs and software integration is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with remote teams.

• Good communication skills in English for clear coordination.

• Ability to follow detailed technical instructions accurately.
