Overview: Nexus HR is seeking a detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant to support a specialized Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT), Facial Reconstructive Surgery, Skin Care, and Sleep Disorders practice in Colorado. This role drives both clinical and administrative workflows, ensuring seamless patient encounters, accurate EHR documentation, and coordinated communication across the care team to deliver a best-in-class patient experience.
About the Job
As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in daily clinic operations across ENT, facial reconstructive, dermatologic, and sleep disorder services. Core responsibilities include patient rooming, supporting specialty-specific procedures, executing provider orders, maintaining clinical documentation integrity, and ensuring timely patient communication. Success in the role hinges on agility, operational discipline, and a patient-centric approach in a fast-paced multispecialty setting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for provider visits by reviewing vital signs, medical history, medications, and allergies.
Accurately document and update information in the EHR.
Enter provider-directed orders (labs, imaging, referrals, prescriptions).
Perform in-office testing and specialty-aligned procedures (e.g., ENT screening tests, wound care support, dermatologic testing, and sleep-related assessments) with accurate documentation and charge entry.
Manage patient check-out and schedule follow-up appointments.
Assist with prior authorizations, medication refills, and administrative tasks (scanning, faxing, provider coordination).
Communicate with patients via phone/portal regarding results, instructions, and care updates.
Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections per clinic protocol.
Collaborate with providers, MAs, and front desk teams to sustain efficient patient flow.
Maintain cleanliness and ensure exam rooms are stocked; complete opening and closing duties.
Educate patients on medical conditions, therapies, skin care instructions, procedural expectations, and testing as outlined by the provider.
Address post-visit patient questions related to care plans and specialty-specific procedures.
Support ENT procedures, facial reconstructive care, dermatologic services, sleep-related workflows, and cross-functional departments as needed.
Participate in ongoing training and clinic meetings.
Qualifications:
Proficient in vitals, immunizations, in-office testing, and specialty procedure support; phlebotomy preferred.
Strong EMR proficiency and medical documentation accuracy.
Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
