Compensation: $200,000 to $215,000 per year

Nexus HR is seeking an experienced and motivated In-House Litigation Counsel with a strong background in litigating for the healthcare sector. This is for a reputable medical software organization in Sacramento, CA. The ideal Counsel will be able to work in the office and travel as needed

About the Job: 

The In-House Litigation Counsel is responsible for representing the organization as the primary litigation counsel and in trials and in any business ventures, including but not limited to litigation, mergers, business representations, and commercial reports.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent the organization as the primary litigator.

  • Represent the organization in commercial litigation matters such as contract discussions and disputes, shareholder disputes, and business torts, among others

  • Liaise with the other counsels and external counsels as needed.

  • Liaise with senior members of staff.

  • Provide accurate, relevant, and timely advice to your employer and other staff members on commercial and business legal topics.

  • Manage and mitigate legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures.

  • Communicate with and work with any third-party bodies, such as external counsel or auditors.

  • Design and deliver legal training to the business

  • Stay up-to-date with changes to commercial legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules, and regulations that directly affect your business and specific industry.

  • Helps review the company’s software system and provide feedback from a legal perspective.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 7 years of experience as a litigation counsel is preferred

  • Trial experience is required

  • Litigation experience in the medical or healthcare industry is required

  • Experience in commercial and business law is highly preferred

  • A J.D. from an accredited ABA law school is required

  • An 80% LSAT score is a plus

  • Member of the California State Bar (or another state bar with the ability to obtain registered in-house counsel status in California); must be in good standing

  • Able to work in Sacramento, CA
