Compensation: $20 - $22 per year DOE

Overview: Nexus HR is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-time Pharmacy Technician to support daily operations for a telepharmacy client in Galesburg. This role involves assisting with prescription processing, medication delivery, and customer service in a pharmacy where the pharmacist is off-site. The ideal candidate is motivated, organized, and able to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and patient care. This position requires some travel within the local area to deliver medications to patients.

The Pharmacy Technician will play a key role in helping the telepharmacy operate smoothly by performing both in-pharmacy and delivery-related duties. Responsibilities include assisting customers at the register, processing insurance claims, managing data entry, and supporting daily workflow. The technician will also use technology such as iPads and Microsoft applications to ensure accurate and efficient operations. This position is ideal for someone with prior pharmacy experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and providing excellent patient care.

To better support our patients and providers, we offer on-site pharmacy services designed to streamline care and improve patient outcomes. Our pharmacy team includes a registered pharmacist and full-service pharmacy services at our Peoria location, while our Galesburg site operates as a telepharmacy to ensure seamless access for patients in that region.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with prescription pick-ups and provide excellent customer service.

  • Operate the register and handle transactions accurately.

  • Process insurance billing and resolve coverage issues.

  • Prepare and deliver medications to patients in the local area.

  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate patient and prescription records.

  • Use iPads and Microsoft applications to support pharmacy operations.

  • Communicate with the off-site pharmacist as needed for prescription clarification and workflow.

  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

  • Certified by PTCB or ExCPT for at least 1 year (Preferred).

  • Active Pharmacy Technician license in Illinois (Required).

  • Strong customer service skills, proficient with Microsoft Office and tablet technology (iPad).

  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations, prescription processing, insurance billing, and medication delivery procedures.
