Psychiatrist (Full-time/Part-time/1099) - San Leandro, CA
Compensation: $180 - 250 hourly

You will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to a diverse patient population. This includes evaluating, diagnosing, and managing mental health conditions, creating individualized treatment plans, prescribing medications, and working with a collaborative team of professionals to ensure patients receive holistic, wraparound care.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions, including prescribing and monitoring medications
Develop and facilitate individualized medical treatment care plans to each patient’s needs, using therapy, medication, or a combination
Develop a therapeutic relationship with clients
Support patients in crisis: De-escalate psychiatric or emotional emergencies with compassion and professionalism
Ensure accurate documentation: Complete clinical charting, treatment notes, and medication records in a timely manner
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team consisting of physicians, psychologists, mid-levels, social workers, medical assistants, and support staff
May serve as a collaborating physician/clinical supervisor for psychiatric Nurse Practitioners as needed
Incorporate principles and practices of modern clinical psychiatry, including abnormal psychology, diagnostic interviewing, community psychology, and community mental health
Deliver care that is culturally sensitive and accessible to a diverse patient population
Qualifications
Board Certified (or Board Eligible) in Psychiatry, with at least one year of post-residency experience
Active California Medical License (Medical Board of California or Osteopathic Medical Board)
Current DEA certificate in good standing
Completion of a Psychiatry Residency
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Comfort with EMR systems (training available)
Malpractice insurance (if contracted as locum)
Schedule:
Flexible options: full-time (preferred) or part-time (minimum 2-3 days/week)
Must be able to commit to at least 6 months, with preference for providers who can stay 1 year or longer
Clinical caseload of up to 25 patients a day, with flexibility depending on schedule
