Part-time Optometrist
Part-time Optometrist - El Monte, CA
Part-time, at least 1-2 days per week
Compensation: $110 - $120 hourly DOE

This role involves providing comprehensive eye care services, including vision assessments, diagnosing eye conditions, and prescribing corrective lenses. About the Job
As a Part-Time Optometrist, you will conduct routine eye exams, diagnose and manage ocular diseases, and educate patients on eye health. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and play a key role in expanding our optometry department. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough eye routines and inspections.
- Perform tests to identify patients’ visual alertness, field of vision, and hand-eye coordination.
- Provide diagnoses of sight problems including nearsightedness and color blindness.
- Provide assessment of eye defects and recommend treatment plans accordingly, including referral to an Ophthalmologist if necessary.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and medications as needed.
- Educate patients regarding correct eye care practices.
- Educate patients on how to use and maintain prescription glasses and lenses.
- Perform accurate and consistent filing of patients’ medical details.
- Other relevant tasks that may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Has 3 years of experience in Optometry practice.
- A medical degree in Optometry.
- Licensed to practice in California.
- Willingness for preceptorship to PA/FNP students is highly preferred.
- Active participation in continued medical education and membership in a professional organization is highly preferred.
- Able to work in El Monte, CA.
- Able to work a part-time schedule, at least 1-2 days per week.
- Willing to explore the possibility of managing an optometry department.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.
